Money, Money, Money!

The students are learning to count money. We started with dimes, nickels and pennies and some students are still struggling a bit. Tomorrow we will begin counting groups of coins with quarters too. Please have your child practice counting groups of coins each night so they can improve their money counting skills. Also have your child practice calling the coins by their names not their values. Thanks for your help at home with this life skill.

Math News

The students are learning to subtract 3-digit numbers with regrouping. They've been enjoying practicing with our dry erase boards and markers. Many students need more practice with the subtraction facts as using their fingers or a number line to subtract really slows them down. The students are working hard at their math stations.
