Fun With Fredbird!

The students loved seeing Fredbird today! He was impressed with how our school was decorated with Cardinal Spirit! We were very excited when Gavin was chosen to help Fredbird!

Holiday Challenge 2 - STEM Actvitiy

Our second "Holiday Challenge" involved designing a new sleigh. With the materials provided, the students were supposed to plan and design a new sleigh for Santa. The sleighs would be judged on how far they would travel. The students got right to work on their new sleigh design and then we tested the sleighs. Check out a few pictures!

Holiday Challenge 1 - STEM Actvity

Right before our Winter Break, the students completed two "Holiday Challenges". Challenge #1- With the materials provided, design and build a storage center for all of the holiday toys. The storage centers would be judged on height and stability. The students had 15 minutes to build their structures with spaghetti noodles and mini-marshmallows and then we measured them. After lunch we measured them again and checked that they were still standing. It was quite a challenge and lots of fun. Check out a few pictures:

Writing Celebration Fun!

The students all shared at least one thing they're proud of in their writing. The students loved sharing with the students in Mr. Jobst's and Miss Fendler's classes. I love that the students LOVE books!
