Math - Plane Shapes

We've been learning about plane shapes:  circle, square, triangle, rectangle, hexagon, trapezoid, parallelogram and rhombus.  We've been sorting shapes by sides, angles, square corners and vertices too.  Using pattern blocks today, the students put squares together to make rectangles, triangles together trapezoids and hexagons, and parallelograms to make a hexagon.  At the math stations, the students are using tangrams to make pictures and using the iPads to show what they've learned using pattern blocks and Educreations.  We will finish this chapter tomorrow and have a test on Friday morning.
